Abby is a 5 year-old, 64 lb. sweet heart. She is completely amateur trained and handled. She attained her NAHRA Master Hunter Retriever title at 2.5 years of age, going 9/9 in Intermediate/Master tests. She attained her AKC Master Hunter title at just over 3 years of age, going 5/6 in the fall of 2005. Abby is only the 6th Chessie female in breed history to hold both of these titles! Abby is tied for 7th HRC best producing female. Recently, Abby received First Place at the 2007 Virginia Retriever Benefit Open Gun Dog class. In October 2007, Abby had the distinction of being the only Chesapeake to qualify at the prestigious week-long AKC Master National Retriever Club Hunt Test!

We have hunted a variety of ducks, geese, pheasant, chuckar, and quail with Abby. She is a stylish retriever who loves water, is as fast as the wind, and is steady and quiet in the blind/boat. She has an excellent nose, hunts within range, and is a pleasure to handle while hunting upland birds.
